We Rejoiced. And Then We Put It On Sale.

San MiceleSomehow, sometimes, even though we know better we become attached to a particular wine. It could be its quirkiness or intelligence, or perhaps its subtle elusiveness and oh-so-difficult-to-obtain nature which makes us desire it even more.

When we fall for these sort of wines we know one thing to be true. Once they go, they're gone and they don't look back. It's almost as if the wine would rather be remembered as the memory of both the hunt and the hunted than actually sticking around.

Today's wine is just such a creature.

We had it. We adored it. It was whisked away and suddenly became unavailable. We pined and sighed before we let go. Only it kept haunting us. We continued pushing for it, but to no avail. We even sent out hunting dogs to neighboring states, but they came back with their tails between their legs, empty handed. We accepted defeat.

And then the skies parted. Woot! We were in a private meeting with one of the most favored Italian importers in the country who wields his influence like a mighty sword and he smiled down upon us like a favorite child. "Relax, I understand," he said, "I can help." Not one week later we received the last six cases from a land far off. We rejoiced.

And then we put it on sale.

Get thee to our store right now (or send us an email to reserve it) before we drink every drop of this wine on the spot in giddy exaltation.

Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige Riesling (DOC) 2012

San Michele
This is the land where this wine was made. We're ready to pack our bags!

The Istituto Agario di San Michele all'Adige is a benchmark winery in the Italian Dolomites. Located in an Augustan monastery from the 12th century, they continue a winemaking tradition on the premises which is over a thousand years old. They focus on the production of wines made from indigenous Trentino varietals which represent the unique history of winemaking in the region. The wines are currently under the guidance of renowned winemaker and professor, Enrico Paternoster.

This isn't like any Riesling you've had before. Forget any preconceptions. This wine isn't sweet. It isn't cloying. If we didn't tell you it was a Riesling, it's quite unlikely you would ever guess. What you would taste is a dry Italian white wine of character and elegance with mildly floral undertones and great acidity. We could literally drink this wine every night of the week. Only there isn't enough of it to go around and we always promise to share, even when it hurts, so here we go.

One week sale, starting now, while supplies last. Regularly $19.99/bottle, now on sale for just $15.99/bottle.

Purchase a solid case for the truly ridiculous price of $160/12 pack case ($13.33/bottle). Yes, you heard right.

Do yourself a favor. Get this wine. While you can.

The LAST DAYS OF THE RED DOT SALE are upon us.
