Big Changes Bring Big Goodies

As many of you have noticed, we've been super busy changing around store sections and bringing in LOTS and LOTS of new wines. We're averaging 50 new wines per week and we'll keep going every week until the store is completely packed with exciting new arrivals.

Here are a few goodies which arrived just this week.

Cune Rioja Reserva 2009 (Spain) Cune Rioja Reserva 2009 (Spain)

"A plush texture carries the focused flavors of plum, licorice, smoke, underbrush and toasted spice in this version, showing a pleasant balance of fruit and savory details. Fresh acidity leads to a floral finish. Drink now through 2019. 900 cases imported." (Wine Spectator)

"The 2009 CUNE Reserva is darker than the Crianzas and has a mixture of red and black fruit in the nose, seems more serious and riper, probably the effect of a warmer vintage. The medium-bodied palate has a good balance between fruit and acidity but ends a little dry. This is a very good Reserva. Drink 2014-2018." (Wine Advocate)

"Bright ruby-red. Sexy red fruits, oak spices and floral oils on the nose. Sweet, deep cherry-vanilla and black raspberry flavors are lifted by juicy acidity and become more energetic with air, picking up a smoky nuance that carries through a smooth, gently tannic finish. Texture-wise this wine is very appealing now, but I'd opt to give it some cellar time to allow the oak to get to know the fruit a little better." (Josh Reynolds, Vinous)

Vinous: 91 points

$24.99/bottle or $239.90/12 pack case ($19.99) or just $19.99/bottle in a mixed case of wine.

Domaine de Fondreche Fayard Cotes du Ventoux 2013 Domaine de Fondreche Fayard Cotes du Ventoux 2013 (Southern Rhone, France)

"The 2013 Ventoux Fayard has an Hermitage-like bouquet of blackberry, powdered rock, pepper and wild herbs. Medium to full-bodied, with bright, yet integrated acidity and notable tannic structure, it's an impressive bottle of wine that will have upwards of a decade of longevity." (Wine Advocate)

Wine Advocate: 91 points

$16.99/bottle or $163.10/12 pack case ($13.59/bottle) or just $13.59/bottle in a mixed case of wine.

"A dark colored, dense wine that is rich and firmly structured. Aged in wood, it holds flavors of plum and berry fruits balanced with a fresh acidity. This is a wine for aging, its structure a powerful statement. Drink from 2014." (Wine Enthusiast)
