There are some wine appellations which nearly always command a high price. To name a few, Barolo, Barbaresco, Amarone, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Napa Valley Cabernets.

Let's start with a little background.
The red wine grape Nebbiolo is king in Piedmont, Italy. It's the foundation for Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara and Ghemme. Generally speaking, it's a very tannic wine when young, boasts a lighter red color than most big red wines, and is famously known for being the wine with scents of "tar and roses."
If Barolo is the King of Piedmont, then Barbaresco is at least the Queen. The prices of both these appellations are generally quite high, even soaring upwards to astronomical. It's rare to find a good expression of these appellations for less than $40/bottle. On top of that, these wines nearly always need to be aged for years in order to tame the tannins and show off their beauty.
That's what makes today's offering so special. It's ready to drink right now. No extensive cellaring is necessary. Plus it has a great review by major press with a high score, and we just love, love, love it. This wine is a rare find and we encourage those of you who love Nebbiolo to jump on this offer.
