Wines from "One of the top estates in the Languedoc"
Jeb Dunnuck, one of the most revered wine critics in the world, has revealed himself to be a harsh but highly respectable judge of character when it comes to the wines of the world. Moreover, his bi-monthly publication is 100% independent and subscriber funded meaning that his reviews are not influenced by outside sources. For these reasons and his many years working with wine, we give his reviews a lot of weight and when he announced that Chateau Puech-Haut is “Easily one of the top estates in the Languedoc (if not southern France)” we definitely took notice. Granted, seeing as their rosé has been hands down one of our favorite French rosés vintage after vintage we also felt validated in our selection.
These notes of praise are doubly impressive because the estate's owner, Gerard Bru, first planted vines in the foothills of the Cevennes in 2000. Since then, he has sought out the assistance of famous oenologists, such as Michel Rolland and Claude Gros, to make his dream of being one of the best French estates come true. Currently, Philippe Cambie, one of the most famous southern French winemakers, is creating the outstanding wines that this estate is producing.
With the stellar year that 2017 revealed itself to be for rosé, we were expecting this year to be truly remarkable – and we were not disappointed! Add to that the equally impressive Prestige Rouge 2015 and you have a killer duo that are sure to impress both consumers and critics alike!
Chateau Puech-Haut Rosé 2017 - Languedoc-Roussillon, France
91 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"The 2017 Prestige Rose is another beautiful rose from this estate. Spice, underbrush, cherries, citrus blossom and beautiful minerality all emerge from the glass and it's rich, yet also fresh and crisp. It's a food rosé to drink over the coming year. It's a blend of 60/40 Grenache and Cinsault aged in tank." (Jeb Dunnuck)

Chateau Puech-Haut Prestige Rouge 2015 -
Languedoc-Roussillon, France
93 Points Wine Advocate
"The 2015 Saint Drezery Prestige is a ripe, sexy beauty that gives up full-bodied notes of black cherries, melted licorice and roasted herbs. Like all the wines from this estate, it has lots of richness and texture, yet stays balanced, lively and pure. It's a year in and year out value that's a no-brainer purchase. It will drink beautifully over the coming 4-5 years (possibly even longer)." (Jeb Dunnuck)
