Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico (DOCG) 2017 (Italy: Tuscany) (ID# 1830)

Name Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico (DOCG) 2017 (ID# 1830)
Varietal Sangiovese
Region Italy: Tuscany
Notes "Chopped mint, woodland herb and wild berry aromas lead the nose. Juicy and bright, the palate delivers succulent Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and white pepper accompanied by taut, refined tannins. Drink 2021–2029." (Wine Enthusiast)

Additional Notes

"Opening to a lean, mid-weight appearance, the 2017 Chianti Classico shows a fairly ripe fruit profile due to the warm vintage, with overt tones of strawberry and dried raspberry. This Sangiovese (blended with smaller parts Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Colorino) is simple and straightforward, with a touch of sweetness on the close. I prefer this wine from the cooler vintages because you get more fruit detailing and focus." (Wine Advocate) "A fresh 2017, this organically farmed Chianti Classico has delicate flavors of red cherry, tobacco and green peppercorn." (Wine & Spirits Magazine)
