"One of the best bargain wines
I've tasted all year"

"This cabernet franc is one of the best bargains so far this year" -- Washington Post, September 29, 2019

Domaine Laroque Cite de Carcassonne Cabernet Franc 2017

Domaine Laroque Cité de Carcassonne Cabernet Franc 2017Laroque which means "the rock," is produced from vineyards located in the hills of the famous ancient fortified city of Carcassonne in Southern France. The vineyards which produce Laroque have been making wine since the 6th century; its name comes from the Stone Age menhirs found throughout the region. Laroque is an easy-to-drink wine that combines the structure, minerality and dusty characteristics of Cabernet Franc with the lively, fruitiness of wines from the south of France.

Domaine Laroque is a medium-bodied, fresh and fruity wine, with luscious flavors of red berry fruits and vanilla. Enjoy it alone or paired with Mediterranean cuisine, pasta, lamb, chicken, pizza and hamburgers.

Let's rush on over to the press because we have something very interesting on our hands.

"Wow! Here's where we need a "Run, don't walk to your wine store" emoji. This is a bargain-priced red, made entirely of cabernet franc, that combines some Bordeaux style with the freshness and fruitiness of wines from France's Mediterranean coast. Look for the dark cherry flavors and white pepper spice characteristic of the grape. Open it at least an hour before dinner and serve it slightly chilled. I was glad I didn't finish the bottle the first night, because the wine was even better the following evening. One of the best bargain wines I've tasted all year." (Washington Post, September 29, 2019)

"Juicy currant and boysenberry fruit is detailed with herb, savory spice and mineral accents in this focused, medium-bodied red, with moderate tannins. Notes of green herb and pepper mark the clean finish. Drink now through 2021. 10,000 cases made." (Wine Spectator)

"Aromas of blueberries, strawberries, lavender and violets. A beautiful and clean red. Full body, fine tannins and a delicious finish. I like the candid character here." (James Suckling)
