| Notes | "Very deep nose of sour cherries and blackcurrants with great savory complexity. The density, elegance and finesse all make this stand out on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Very long, compact and refined finish that needs some time to open up fully. The second vintage of this wine from vines planted in 1932. Drinkable now, but best from 2026." (James Suckling) | |||
Additional Notes "The 2022 Morgon Corcelette, sourced from La Roche Pilée, is a vivid wine, showing high energy in contrast with its darker flavors of sappy blackberries, currants, peonies, dried herbs and candied peel. The medium to full-bodied wine boasts a firm structure in its youth with suede-like tannins that support the layered mid-palate, livened by its framing of succulent acids and its trace of anise-like bitterness that draws in the finish. While enjoyable now, the wine promises even greater refinement and complexity in the coming years." (Wine Advocate) "The 2022 Morgon Corcelette was reduced when I tasted it from barrel a year ago. Now in bottle, it has an open, expressive bouquet with red berry fruit, orange rind and slate-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, taut, fresh and quite spicy with a touch of black pepper on the nicely structured finish. This is a Corcelette that boasts pedigree, but it needs time."
