Constantia Glen 2016 (South Africa: Constantia)

Name Constantia Glen 2016
Varietal Sauvignon Blanc
Region South Africa: Constantia
Notes "A piercing talc hint leads the way, followed by racy gooseberry, jicama and lemon zest notes. The long, taut finish has lovely tension, with a light whiff of shortbread at the very end. Drink now for the rapier feel, or cellar if you want the shortbread element to develop. Drink now through 2019. 670 cases imported." (Wine Spectator)

Additional Notes

"The 2016 Sauvignon Blanc, which is matured in stainless steel, has a fresh bouquet with light steely citrus and dandelion aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry with touches of apricot and mango, the acidity cutting back in towards the finish to maintain freshness and poise. Enjoy this "Savvy" over the next 3-4 years." (Wine Advocate) "Pale, bright straw-yellow. Pungent aromas of gooseberry, lime peel, anise and white pepper, plus a suggestion of gingery spice. Dense, tactile and bright, with a touch of grapefruit pith bitterness and some salinity to the tropical fruit and tarragon flavors. Displays serious palate presence, not to mention good mineral firmness and energy. Not austere but I'd hold this for another six months." (Vinous)
