Domaine Roche 2013 (France: Rhone, Southern) (ID# 2013)

Name Domaine Roche 2013 (ID# 2013)
Varietal Cairanne (Cotes du Rhone Villages)
Region France: Rhone, Southern
Notes "A beautiful effort, the 2013 Cairanne (70% Grenache and 30% Syrah aged 80% in concrete tank and 20% in barrique) is a pretty, polished Cairanne that has a seamless, silky profile that's hard to resist. Giving up plenty of black raspberry, creamy licorice, sweet garrigue and hints of more savory truffle and soy sauce, it's medium-bodied, moderately concentrated and balanced, with fine tannin lending focus on the finish. As with a lot of the 2013, this shines for its freshness, suppleness and forward character." (Wine Advocate)

Additional Notes

"Direct, with a beam of steeped plum and blackberry fruit, lined with subtle anise and singed juniper notes. A lightly woodsy tug holds the finish. Drink now. 450 cases imported." (Wine Spectator) "Fresh cherry and dark berry aromas are complemented by suggestions of candied flowers and white pepper. Juicy and appealingly sweet, offering pliant cherry and boysenberry flavors given spine and lift by zesty acidity. Finishes supple, fresh and quite long, showing gentle tannic grip and a touch of lavender." (Vinous)
