Bodega Catena Zapata 2014 (Argentina: Mendoza) (ID# 1890)

Name Bodega Catena Zapata 2014 (ID# 1890)
Varietal Chardonnay
Region Argentina: Mendoza
Notes "The nose is subtly oaked with white fruit and floral aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and has very nice acidity which makes the wine not only fresher, but also longer and more mineral. This is the freshest of all the vintages of this Chardonnay, and the change in vineyards is really noticeable. Super! 350,000 bottles produced." (Wine Advocate)

Additional Notes

"Clean, cool aromas of pear and peach lifted by white flowers. Offers good texture and palate coverage but only modest nuance. Juicy acidity gives shape to the finish but I'd drink this wine in the next couple years. This was once a full-malo wine." (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous) "A well-spiced, oaky-tasting style, with smoky notes to the ripe apple and baked-pear flavors. Drink now. 15,000 cases imported." (Wine Spectator)
