              SPECTACULAR PLUMPJACK and CADE OFFERING

Last week we attended a small private luncheon with a handful of wine buyers from Massachusetts to taste the new releases of Plumpjack and their relatively new project called Cade at the restaurant Post 390 in Boston. We were excited to meet the prestigious winemaker of both wineries, Anthony Biagi. Anthony is a legend in Napa Valley. Plumpjack is one of the those wineries. The kind which has graced the cover of Wine Spectator Magazine, epitomizing the best of Napa Valley. No expense is spared at the Plumpjack winery whose facility alone cost $21 million. Plumpjack and Cade Wineries
While we tasted through a range of wines from both Plumpjack and Cade, today we want to share with you the wines we felt excelled.
Plumpjack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 TALK ABOUT PLUSH "From the Oakville estate of Plumpjack, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a gorgeous nose of creme de cassis, licorice, and graphite. Flawlessly put together, with delicate tannins, full body, but elegance combined with power, this impressively pure, layered, multi-dimensional Cabernet Sauvignon is already drinkable. It need another 5-7 years to gain complexity, but this is a superb 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon to be drunk now or cellared for two decades." (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate) Wine Advocate: 95 points $94.99/bottle or $912.00/12 pack case ($76.00/bottle). Please call (508-255-3660) or reply to this email to order. This wine requires advanced reservation to purchase. Wine Tasting at Cade Winery
Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 (Howell Mountain) "Displaying an even more opaque purple color, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate exhibits a glorious nose of blueberries, black raspberries, plums, graphite and crushed rocks. This exquisite Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is about as good as it gets from these higher elevation vineyards on the eastern side of Napa Valley. A brilliant texture, stunning purity and great length make for a fabulous wine to drink over the next 20-25+ years." (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate) Wine Advocate: 98+ points $145.99/bottle or $700.80/6 pack case ($116.80/bottle). Please call (508-255-3660) or reply to this email to order. This wine requires advanced reservation to purchase.
Cade Napa Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Of all the wines at the luncheon, this is the most approachable and ready to drink now. Not to mention, it is very reasonably priced for a winery of this pedigree. "The 2007 Napa Cuvee is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc from the above mentioned vineyard sites with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Kenefick Ranch. This 3,000-case offering displays a dense opaque ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of blue and blackberries, crushed rocks, acacia flowers, and a hint of oak in the background. Medium to full-bodied with good ripeness, sweet, melted tannins, and a long finish, it should drink well for 12-15+ years." (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate) Wine Advocate: 91 - 93 points "Intense and focused on a rich core of black cherry, currant, plum and cedary oak flavors. Full-bodied and expansive, yet retains a tight focus and a measure of restraint. The flavors pour through on the finish." (Wine Spectator) Wine Spectator: 92 points $65.99/bottle or $633.50/12 pack case ($52.79/bottle) of just $52.79/bottle in a mixed case of wine. In stock now! Cade Vineyards
Cade Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2007 Let's ignore the press for once. Why? ALL OF THE ELITE BUYERS AT LUNCH SWOONED OVER THIS WINE "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain, a blend of estate and non-estate fruit (from mountain vineyards such Ink Grade, Outpost, True, and Pestoni), is closed at present, but it appears to be loaded with potential. Abundant notes of cassis, black raspberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with notions of chocolate, cocoa, and bay leaf are followed by a structured, tannic, medium to full-bodied wine that needs some time in the bottle. Give this well-built, masculine Cabernet Sauvignon 4-5 years of cellaring, and consume it over the following two decades." (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate) Wine Advocate: 90+ points "Combines power with pleasure, at first firm, tight and muscular, then slowly more accessible, built around mineral, graphite, dried currant and blackberry, with the flavors slowly building. Ends with chewy tannins." (Wine Spectator) Wine Spectator: 92 points $77.49/bottle or $743.90/12 pack case ($61.99/bottle). Please call (508-255-3660) or reply to this email to order.
